Jarvis Family Reunion

This is going to be a long post but hang in there we had a lot of fun in California this past week.  The Jarvis Reunion that is held the first weekend in August every 3 years was last week.  We went to California a little early and had an amazing time.  We left Monday the 1st.  Rob, Kelsey, Savanna, Kali, Kason, Brooklyn, and I went over first.  On Tuesday we went to an amazing aquarium in Long Beach.  How do you like the shark?
Savanna is petting a star fish. She also petted sharks, jellyfish, sting rays just to name a few.
We saw so many different kind of fish and animal from the ocean.  Those are some jelly fish behind Kelsey and Savanna.
When we got back from the aquarium we hit the beach.  Karissa and Barry had made it to Cali by then.  Our hotel was right by Hunington and Sunset Beach.  One of Rob's cousins had an extra wetsuit so Rob used it.  It was alittle cold.
Brooklyn's first time at the beach.
We did some boogie boarding and skimming.  The is Kelsey boarding.
On Weds. we went to Hunnington Beach Pier and went fishing.  This is the fish that Kelsey caught.  The US Open surfing was being held so we watched some great surfing too.
Barry fishing.  Barry and Kason caught the most.
Rob and Savanna fishing.   After fishing Kali and Kason had to go home because Kali had to report back to work on Thursday.
This is the view out our back window of the hotel.  We just had to cross a parking lot and we were on the beach.  It was great.  You could hear the ocean all night long.
Thursday morning we went to Newport Beach and rented bikes.  We biked along the beach which was fantastic.
We took the ferry to Balboa Island and biked over there and got balboa bars.  If you don't know what that is, it is a ice cream bar that is to die for.
Savanna and Kelsey on their sweet beach bikes.
On the Friday the Jarvis Reunion started.  We went to Corona Del Mar Beach for the day.  The waves were huge.
 Karissa being the little Mermaid
There was a cute lagoon that we went to when you hiked over a little mountain.  The waves were smaller and the kids could play more there.
 Karissa and Barry.
 Jaycie and Kelsey
We roasted hot dogs and made smores.
 Kelsey and her roasting skills.
Saturday we were all at the park.  It was a really nice park.  We played a lot of games and a lot of visiting.  Saturday night we were all at a church for a great dinner and program.  The above it the Jarvis Family Tree that Rob's aunt Susann put together.
Kelsey and her cousin Zack at the park.  It was a great time.  Jaycie flew in on Thursday night after her volleyball camp.  Jake wasn't able to come at all.  Football has started and he had to stay home.  We really missed him.  We only had about 85 people at the reunion but for all of us that went it was a blast.  Great job by the George Jarvis Family for putting it on.  We will see all of you Jarvis' in 3 years.
